1. Nanda Devi

Nanda Devi is the second highest peak in India. This awe-inspiring mountain lies in the Garhwal Himalayas and is one of the beautiful destinations of Uttarakhand. This mountain holds religious and cultural importance in the area and a national park incorporates this peak and the surrounding region. Due to the vulnerable ecosystem of the peak, this mountain is protected by laws. But that does not mean that the visitors cannot find solace in its beauty and charm as the peak is open for climbers to test their skills and courage.



2. Nun and Kun Twin Peaks

Also, known simply as Nun Kun, Nun and Kun mountains are two adjacent peaks in the Himalayan Range. They are situated in Jammu and Kashmir, near the city of Srinagar. These are the highest mountains in the Zanskar Himalayas here. The peaks are separated by a plateau and look like they are touching the sky when viewed from a distance. An expedition to the Nun Kun in the Suru Valley can be easily included in a travel itinerary to Jammu and Kashmir.

3. Trisul

Located around nine miles away from the Nanda Devi mountain, Trisul is a group of three mountains. The name ‘Trisul’ comes from the trident, which is the weapon of the Hindu god Shiva. When looked from afar, the summits of these mountains look as if they stand in the shape of a Trisul. These mountains lie in the Kumaon region of the great Himalayas. The three peaks include Trisul I, Trisul II, and Trisul III, of which Trisul I is the highest at the height of 7120 meters.

4. Shivling

Six kilometers towards south from the religious site of Gaumukh lies the stunning Shivling peak. This two summit peak is situated in the Garhwal Himalayan range in the group of the Gangotri mountains. Its name refers to the Shiva Linga which is an abstract representation of Lord Shiva in Hinduism. Though this mountain is extremely difficult to climb because of its steep uphill terrain, it is quite popular among mountain climbers looking for thrill and adventure.

The Thalay Sagar Peak is situated in Uttarakhand towards the south of the Gangotri Glacier. The peak is a stunning example of natural magnificence that is bestowed upon India. This peak is a part of the famous Garhwal Himalayas and is known for its dramatically steep and high climb. An expedition to this mountain is a prized and rewarding experience to the mountaineers because of the difficulties and dangers of the climb. Kedartal lake which lies at the foot of this mountain provides an incredible view of this peak.
